Things to see:

- The Palace of the Parliament (Romanian: Palatul Parlamentului) in Bucharest, Romania is a multi-purpose building containing both chambers of the Romanian Parliament. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the Palace is the world`s largest civilian administrative building, most expensive administrative building, and heaviest building. The Palace was designed and nearly completed by the Ceauşescu regime as the seat of political and administrative power. Nicolae Ceauşescu named it the House of the Republic (Casa Republicii), but many Romanians call it the People`s House (Casa Poporului).

- The Village Museum (Muzeul Satului in Romanian) is an open-air ethnographic museum located in the Herăstrău Park (Bucharest, Romania), showcasing traditional Romanian village life. The museum extends to over 100,000 m2, and contains 272 authentic peasant farms and houses from all over Romania. It was created in 1936 by Dimitrie Gusti, Victor Ion Popa, and Henri H. Stahl.

- The Cişmigiu Gardens (Romanian: Parcul Cişmigiu) are a public park near the center of Bucharest, Romania, spanning areas on all sides of an artificial lake. The gardens` creation was an important moment in the history of Bucharest. They form the oldest and, at 17 hectares, the largest park in city`s central area. The main entrance is from Regina Elisabeta Boulevard, in front of the City Hall; there is another major entrance at the Ştirbei Vodă Street, near the Creţulescu Palace. The southwestern corner of the park is adjacent to the Gheorghe Lazăr High School.

- Arcul de Triumf is a triumphal arch located in the northern part of Bucharest, on the Kiseleff Road. The first, wooden, triumphal arch was built hurriedly, after Romania gained its independence (1878), so that the victorious troops could march under it. Another temporary arch was built on the same site, in 1922, after World War I, which was demolished in 1935 to make way for the current triumphal arch, which was inaugurated in September 1936. The current arch has a height of 27 meters and was built after the plans of the architect Petre Antonescu. It has as foundation a 25 x 11.50 meters rectangle. The sculptures with which the facades are decorated were created by famous Romanian sculptors such as Ion Jalea and Dimitrie Paciurea.

- Cotroceni Palace is a palace of Bucharest which is the residence of the President of Romania, located at Bulevardul Geniului, nr. 1. On Cotroceni hill, in 1679, Şerban Cantacuzino built a monastery. This was the place where a palace was built by French architect Paul Gottereau for King Carol I of Romania in 1888. In 1977, Nicolae Ceauşescu made the palace a guest house, and the old church of Cantacuzino was demolished in 1985. Since 1991, Cotroceni Palace has been the residence of the Romanian President. The National Cotroceni Museum is open to the public. During the time when Ion Iliescu was president, the press reported that an owl had settled in the park which surrounds Cotroceni Palace. In Romanian folklore, an owl is said to be a funerary bird that announces the imminent death of somebody, as the hooting of the owl is likened to a mourning call. For this reason, it is alleged that a hunter was hired to shoot the owl.

Things to see:

- The Sinaia Monastery was founded by Prince Mihai Cantacuzino in 1695 and named after the great Sinai Monastery on Mount Sinai. As of 2005 it is inhabited by 13 Christian Orthodox monks led by hegumen Macarie Bogus. It belongs to the archdiocese of Bucharest.

- Biserica Neagră or Black Church (German: Schwarze Kirche; Romanian: Biserica Neagră; Hungarian: Fekete templom) is a cathedral in Braşov, a city in south-eastern Transylvania, Romania. It was built by the German community of the city and stands as the main Gothic style monument in the country, as well as being the largest and one of the most important Lutheran (Evangelical Church of Augustan Confession in Romania) places of worship in the region.

- Bran Castle (German: Törzburg; Hungarian: Törcsvár), situated near Bran and in the immediate vicinity of Braşov, is a national monument and landmark in Romania. The fortress is situated on the border between Transylvania and Wallachia, on DN73. Commonly known as "Dracula`s Castle" (although it is one among several locations linked to the Dracula legend, including Poienari Castle and Hunyad Castle), it is marketed as the home of the titular character in Bram Stoker`s Dracula. There is, however, no evidence that Stoker knew anything about this castle. There is evidence, however, that Vlad Tepes actually did use the castle during his raids into Transylvania. The castle is now a museum open to tourists, displaying art and furniture collected by Queen Marie. Tourists can see the interior individually or by a guided tour. At the bottom of the hill is a small open air museum park exhibiting traditional Romanian peasant structures (cottages, barns, etc.) from across the country.
